Last week, local entrepreneur David Dresner spent his Thursday educating some of St. Louis’ most promising future entrepreneurs. Dresner, founder and owner of several prosperous businesses including Crispy Edge and Sleeve a Message, was invited to speak with St. Louis University’s Entrepreneurship Program.
Dresner’s businesses have been successful in various industries, each one demanding different and innovative tactics, giving him a unique and knowledgeable outlook on what it takes to create a thriving business in any market. In this hour long interactive talk, Dresner was afforded a chance to share his personal background story and his experience diving headfirst into the creative world of entrepreneurship – and the lessons he learned along the way.
At age ten, Dresner dreamed up the idea of his company, Sleeve a Message and fortified it during his education at Washington University’s Olin Business School. Dresner’s new global pot sticker restaurant in Tower Grove, Crispy Edge, has also been a recent hot topic.
“We were delighted to have David Dresner speak to our Advanced Business Planning Class in the Entrepreneurship Program at St. Louis University. It really resonated with the students to hear him share his social awareness priorities along with his keen entrepreneurship skills. It was a gift to the students,” says Dr. Jerome Katz, head of the Entrepreneurship Program at St. Louis University.
The St. Louis University Entrepreneurship Program is ranked 9th in the country by US News & World Reports. The program is comprised of 11 students, with educations in nutrition, public health and business. Dresner used the opportunity to explain tools for success, share his best advice and answer all questions in an effort to help these students reach their full potential.
